Counselling In Stroud
A warm welcome to my website
Daytime appointments available up to 6 pm.
I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor in Stroud which is within easy reach of Cirencester, Gloucester and Cheltenham. I see individuals, students, young people from age 15 upwards, adopters and foster carers. I can provide a confidential service within a safe space to listen and to help you explore your feelings.
As a psychodynamic counsellor I can work with a wide range of difficulties including issues related to anxiety, depression, relationships, bereavement, low self-esteem, adoption issues, loneliness and isolation, post-natal depression, termination of pregnancy, menopause, identity issues, work issues, stress and self-harm.
During our first meeting we can look at your main concerns and we can then consider how to proceed from there. We can discuss whether you would like an agreed number of therapy sessions or whether a more open-ended arrangement would suit you better. Counselling can help you to develop a better understanding of your difficulties and looks at ways in which you can make changes.
Mindfulness and being in the present can also contribute to finding a balance as well as increasing your awareness about who you truly are.
Counselling for Young People and Students
I can provide counselling in Stroud to young people from age 15 upwards and to students. My previous counselling experience includes working in schools in Cheltenham and Gloucester and latterly with students at a University.
Counselling for Adopters and Foster Carers
I can offer counselling to individuals and couples who are adopters or foster carers. You may be encountering difficulties due to a range of issues - from conflicts which arise in relationships when a complex child is in a foster placement or has been adopted to the turmoil that may result from a placement or adoption disruption. Both adoption and fostering can greatly impact on the family dynamic.
I offer counselling in Stroud which is within easy reach of Cheltenham, Cirencester and Gloucester. I am a fully accredited counsellor with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I operate within the BACP ethical framework and regularly participate in further professional development training.
