Individual and Couples Counselling
I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor offering therapy in Stroud. I see individuals, couples, students and young people from age 15 upwards. I can provide a confidential service within a safe space to listen and to help you explore your feelings.
As a psychodynamic counsellor I can work with a wide range of difficulties including issues related to anxiety, depression, relationships, bereavement, low self-esteem, adoption issues, loneliness and isolation, post-natal depression, termination of pregnancy, menopause, identity issues, work issues, stress and self-harm.
During our first meeting we can look at your main concerns and we can then consider how to proceed from there. We can discuss whether you would like an agreed number of therapy sessions or whether a more open-ended counselling arrangement would suit you better. Counselling can help you to develop a better understanding of your difficulties and looks at ways in which you can make changes.
Mindfulness and being in the present can also contribute to finding a balance as well as increasing your awareness about who you truly are.
I can provide counselling for couples in a neutral space where you and your partner will have the opportunity to begin to understand what is occurring between you. There may be various reasons why you are both considering counselling at this time such as difficulties in communicating, some kind of conflict or because you have encountered a particularly difficult phase in your relationship. I will listen to your issues in a sensitive way whilst taking both points of view into account. Couples counselling usually entails seeing both partners together for a series of counselling sessions.
I offer counselling in Stroud which is within easy reach of Cheltenham, Cirencester and Gloucester. I am a fully accredited counsellor with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I operate within the BACP ethical framework and regularly participate in further professional development training.
